The plaque of the men from the Nantlle Valley who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars was unveiled at the Fron Centre on Saturday 9th November 2024.
The Service was led by the Reverend Marcus Robinson with music from Nantlle Valle Silver Band followed by cake and cuppa of course.
The plaque was supported by the Lions, Masons, the Community Council, local businesses and Nantlle Valley residents who bought cakes at Marchnad Lleu in Penygroes.
The plaque commemorates all the men lost, but with special mention to the seventy-one quarrymen from the Nantlle Valley.
The images of the slate splitter and solder were created by Kar Rowson, a local artist and engraved by Roger of the local Inigo Jones Company.
The plaques will be placed on the wall of School House in the village so that local residents and visitors to the area can appreciate the memorial.
